Denise Lee Devore Sheaffer, 61, of Shippensburg, passed away due to complications of end stage renal disease, on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
She was born on January 31, 1952, in Carlisle, a daughter of Rodney C. and Edwina L. Kauffman Devore.
In the past, Denise had been employed as a Switchboard Operator at Shippensburg University and also worked as a Hostess at the Allenberry Playhouse. Denise was very family oriented and took great joy in spending time at all of the family events and functions. She liked to cook and really had a love of nature, be it enjoying a walk or on a drive.
She is survived by her son, Andrew C. Sheaffer of Walnut Bottom; her mother, Edwina L. Devore of Walnut Bottom; two sisters, Lisa R. Devore of Fairfax, VA and Heidi C. Gardner of Fayetteville; one brother, Samuel N. Devore of Walnut Bottom; and many nieces and nephews.
Denise was preceded in death by her father, Rodney C. Devore, who died on December 4, 2006, and one sister, Sherry Brooks, who died on November 3, 2002.
Her graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in the Spring Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Harold A. Bolyard, Jr. will officiate. A time of food and fellowship will be held immediately following the service at the Trinity United Methodist Fellowship Center at 110 West Main St. Walnut Bottom, PA 17266. The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements.
