Delores D. “Honey” Henry, 94, of Chambersburg, passed away peacefully at her home the morning of Thursday, December 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Born Tuesday, September 13, 1927 in Lickingcreek, Fulton County, she was a daughter of the late Russell Allen and Katharine Oakman Deshong.
Honey was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg. She was a 1945 graduate of Green Hill High School, and a 1949 graduate of Shippensburg State College. Honey worked as an Elementary School Teacher in the Carlisle School District, and a member of PSEA.
Honey loved the Baltimore Ravens, she loved her cat Raven who was her best friend, and loved and cherished her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Robert T. (wife Verda) Henry, Jr. of Chambersburg; one daughter, Anne K. (husband Brian) Corwell, Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Carly (Jeff) Miller, Winchester, VA, Jamie (Cory) Rouzer, Jessa Corwell, Jacob Corwell, and Joseph Corwell, all of Chambersburg; four great grandchildren, Landon and Peyton Miller, and Zoey and Maci Rouzer; one sister, Donna Garlock, McConnellsburg; one sister-in-law, Helen Henry, Chambersburg; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Henry, who passed away November 30, 2009; and two sisters, Dora Horton, and Doris Ford.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Christopher Suehr officiating.
