Debbie Kay Noel, 63, of Newville, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Thursday, June 30, 1955 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Janet V. Morrison Mentzer.
Debbie was a 1974 graduate of Big Spring High School, Newville. She retired in January of 2018 from Saylor’s Market as a cashier.
Debbie was a member of the Newville Cowboy Church. She was a member of the former Oswald-Taylor Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed working in their woodshop alongside her husband, and spending time outdoors.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Michael R. Noel, whom she married January 15, 1977; one daughter, Stephanie M. Hurley; one granddaughter, Briana C. Hurley; one brother, Gary L. (Mary) Mentzer, all of Newville; one uncle, Chalmer E. (Kay) Helm, Jr., of York Springs; two aunts, Marsha Varner, and Connie Stevens, both of Shippensburg; one sister in-law, Barbara Gamble, of Chambersburg, one brother in-law, David Noel, of Shippensburg; two nephews, Bradley Mentzer, of Carlisle, and Justin Livick, of Chambersburg; and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Ernest, and Franklin Mentzer, and an infant sister, Bertha Mentzer.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Dulaney officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held on Sunday, from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Debbie’s family is requesting casual attire.
