David W. Zullinger, 71, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Monday, January 10, 2022, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on June 6, 1950, in Orrstown, a son of the late Frederick M. and Myrtle C. (Whorley) Zullinger. David was a 1968 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School.
David worked as an equipment tech for AT&T for forty -seven years, retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Patriotic Sons of America and a past president of the Burt J. Asper American Legion Post #46, Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Bowers) Zullinger of Fayetteville; a son, Matthew D. Zullinger of Chambersburg; a daughter, Stephanie E. Zullinger of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Alexander Malone, Mae’Leigha Lewis, and Avalyn Lewis; brother, James W. (Jane) Zullinger Indian Land, SC; sister-in-law, Nancy B. (James) Probst; brother-in-law, David E. (Kelly) Bowers; brother-in-law, M. Richard (Mindy) Bowers, all of Chambersburg; a very dear friend, Tim Parker and his children, Jason and Lilly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Sgt. John E. Zullinger.
His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Steven Livermore will officiate. Private interment will occur in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning at the funeral home.
