David Wright

David Eugene “Buck” Wright, 77 of Upper Strasburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from the Chambersburg Hospital, after a yearlong courageous battle with cancer. His loving wife and daughters were by his side.

Born Monday, April 12, 1937 in Upper Strasburg, he was a son of the late Curtis William and Dorothy Isabelle Zeek Wright.

Buck was a United States Army Veteran serving from August 1961 until November 1964. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1995 as a Machining Inspector after 22 years of service.

Buck attended the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church in Chambersburg and was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge # 562, Newburg. He was an avid bottle & insulator collector, enjoyed deer hunting and riding dirt bikes. He loved and cherished his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Joann Elizabeth Patterson Wright, two daughters, Kimberly K. Forrester (husband Kenneth) of Shippensburg, Melissa W Kibbe (husband Jason) of Orrstown, two brothers, Richard W. Wright (wife Mercina) of Upper Strasburg, Robert I. Wright of Shippensburg, one sister, Betty J. Wright of Chambersburg, five grandchildren, Josh and Tyler Forrester, Jocelyn and Bryce Kibbe and Frank Meise (wife Gretchen).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Buddy Wright.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 4, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church at 7041 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with the Rev. Charles J. Naylor officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. A visitation will be held Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., and one hour prior to the service in the church.
