David Martin Rotz, 59, of Chambersburg, died on the morning of Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on May 29, 1954, in Chambersburg, a son of Richard L. Rotz and Ruth Gontz Fitz. David was a 1972 graduate of Shippensburg High School.
He moved to New Jersey and lived there from 1982 until 2002. He worked in construction for the New Jersey Laborers Union, Local #394, at the Exxon Refinery in Linden, NJ, from 1990 until his retirement in 2009. In his free time, David liked to be outdoors hunting and fishing, he was also a pretty big history buff, and traveled to see his sons in New Hampshire as much as possible.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sons, Beau M. and Joshuah L. Rotz, both of Derry, NH; his former wife, Lynn Schiller of Derry, NH; brother, Steve R., husband of Christine Rotz of Shippensburg; two nephews, Clifton Rotz and Jason, husband of Erin Rotz, both of Shippensburg; and two great nieces.
He was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles.
His memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Chambersburg Baptist Church. Pastor Kenny Craig will officiate.
