David Scott Bishop, Sr.

David Scott Bishop, Sr., 66, of Shippensburg, departed this life on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the U.P.M.C. Carlisle Hospital.

He was born on October 26, 1958, in Mechanicsburg, a son of the late Francis J. and Verna E. (Vogelsong) Bishop. David married Shirley A. Koser on April 3, 1976, at Green Spring First Church of God.

David worked as a mechanic at H & H Chevrolet, Shippensburg, for 34 years. He was a member of the Newville First Church of God. In his free time he enjoyed country music, fishing, baseball, and NASCAR throughout his life. David also loved his many dogs over the years.

In addition to his wife of forty-eight years, he is survived by two sons, David S. Bishop, Jr. and wife Aziza of Mechanicsburg and Greg A. Bishop and wife Erin of Newville; five grandchildren, Breyona, Imane, Aiden, Mason, and Olivia; a brother, Francis J. Bishop, Jr., and wife Joyce; a sister, Nancy Sweeney of Carlisle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Terry Bishop, and one sister, Shirley Smith.

His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Per David’s wishes, there will be no public viewing, visitation or funeral service.
