Darlene F. Fraker, 88, of Upper Strasburg, passed away the morning of Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on Wednesday, September 2, 1936 in Pleasant Hall, a daughter of the late Ambrose Aaron and Cora Blanche Shetter Patterson.
Darlene worked as a seamstress for over 50 years at various factories within the area. She was an active, faithful member of UP Church of God in Upper Strasburg, where she taught both Sunday School and Bible School. She also assisted within the nursery, as well as the organization of various church functions.
Darlene frequently attended the Upper Strasburg Senior Activity Center, where she enjoyed playing cards and dominos. A family oriented person at heart, she cherished “Sisters Days,” where she would meet with her sisters weekly at each other’s houses to play games and cards. Darlene also enjoyed attending concerts with friends and was skilled in crocheting, crafting, and sewing. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and their families.
She is survived by three children, Jay D. (Carolyn) Peck of Orrstown, Nancy A. (Samuel III) Small of Chambersburg, and Lisa K. (Bradley) Peiffer of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren, Seth A. (Holly) Peck, Levi D. (Ashley) Peck, Trisha R. (James) Graham, Gina L. (Rick) Truett, Kirk B. (Ashley) Peiffer, Chad W. (Dawn) Peiffer, Kayla K. French, and Nina Peck; 25 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Marvin (Miriam) Patterson of Orrstown, Joann Wright of Upper Strasburg, Jean Rook of Orrstown, and Shirley (Donald) Holtry of Orrstown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Dale W. Peck; second husband of three years, P. Larry Fraker; one son, Scott B. Peck; and three siblings, Richard Patterson, Louise Bobletz, and Mary Jane Horn.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at UP Church of God, 9716 Upper Strasburg Road, Upper Strasburg, PA 17265. Pastor Timothy Redmond will officiate. Burial will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service Monday morning at the church.
