Dale M. Foust, known as Papal by his grandchildren and family, 84, of Lower Horse Valley, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sunday, July 2, 1939 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late John Ross and Mary Holtry Foust.
Dale worked as a well respected stone mason, owning and operating Dale Foust Masonry. His skilled hands created works of art. He enjoyed big game hunting out west. His home was proof that his hunts yielded reward. He could often be found on weekends at a sprint car race or boating at Raystown Lake.
In his recent years Dale spent his mornings at breakfast with his valued friends, enjoying nature and wildlife at his home along with watching Westerns with his dog Natty. For Dales entire life he believed Pepsi was the only drink necessary to have in the refrigerator and that it could cure any ailment.
He was a member of the Orrstown Lodge # 262 F. & A.M., Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company, Pleasant Hall Lutheran Church, and Patriotic Order Sons of America Orrstown Camp #645.
He is survived by one son Michael (Roxanna) Foust, Bishopville, MD; two daughters, Michele Fisher, and Jennifer (James) Temchack, all of Chambersburg; his loving companion of 15 years, Wilma McKenrick; one sister, Donna Rosenberry; eight grandchildren, Tyler (Heather) Foust, Michaela Fisher, Zachary Foust, Mason Fisher, Kendall Temchack, Jet Temchack, Marissa Temchack, and Bryar Temchack; two great grandchildren, River Foust and Reath Jones.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Bob Foust; two sisters, Nancy White and Beverly Babb; and one grandson, Jeremy Foust.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., with Pastor Trevor Rosenberry officiating. Burial will be in the the Pleasant Hall Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 4-6 p.m. with a Masonic service being held at 5:45 p.m. A second viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, in the funeral home.
