Crea L. Koser, 88, of Shippensburg, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Paramount Senior Living, Fayetteville.
She was born Sunday April 19, 1931 in Shippensburg, PA. Crea was a daughter of the late Raymond G. and Ethel G. Peiper Hammond.
Crea was a member of the Newburg First Church of God. She retired from the Greif Co. in Shippensburg and cooked for both the Hub City Club and Wilson College. Crea was a member of the Cedarettes of Valley Forest Lodge #145 and the Martha Custis Chapter # 342 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed baking, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Crea was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Koser who passed away April 4, 1992. One sister, Betty Young, one granddaughter, Julia Miller and two grandsons, Brian Koser and Jason Nenninger also are deceased.
Crea is survived by five sons, Ronald L. (Gloria) Koser, Thomas L. (Ruth) Koser and Frederick P. (Tammy) Koser all of Shippensburg, James R. (Mabel) Koser of Newburg and Richard W. (Cris) Koser of Newville, four daughters, Linda K. Miller of Chambersburg, Catherine J. (Darryl) Weagley of Mont Alto, Margaret L. (James) Shumberger of Boiling Springs and Susan E. (Steve) Nenninger, of Newville, one brother, Walter C. Hammond of Shippensburg, one sister, Helen L. Myers of Newburg, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the Newburg First Church of God on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Moss officiating. Those in attendance are asked to observe the recommendations pertaining to reducing the potential spread of Covid-19; wearing masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing as much as possible.
