Coleta Ann Wahl, 85, a resident at Providence Place, Chambersburg, and formerly of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015.
Born Friday, November 1, 1929 in Friars Hill, WV, she was a daughter of the late John Stuart and Nora Spangler Wyatt.
Coleta Ann was a graduate of Williamsburg High School in Williamsburg, WV. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Concord College in Athens, WV and later received her Master’s in Education from Shippensburg State College. Coleta Ann was a long time educator working most of her years with the Shippensburg Area Head Start Program.
She was a long time active member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Shippensburg where she taught Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Faculty Wives at Shippensburg University, enjoyed square dancing with her husband and spending time with her family.
Surviving are three sons; Max Stuart (Elizabeth) Wahl of Maugansville, MD, Michael, Lewis (Lynette) Wahl of Damascus, MD, and Mark Richard (Mary) Wahl of Loysville, four grandchildren; Jillian Michelle, Angela Rose, Alex Joseph, and Richard Steven Wahl, two step grandchildren; Nikkilette Marie and Alexxi Lyn Arena, and one sister, Ada Grey Ayres.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Dr. Richard W. Wahl who died June 6, 2012, and one brother, John Stuart Wyatt, Jr.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Christ United Methodist Church, 47 East King Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257 with the Rev. Sandy Kraft officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Monday in the church.
