Clarence C. Rebuck of Shippensburg, age 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, on November 25, 1932, the son of the late Harry B. and Alice Rotz Rebuck. He attended Shippensburg schools and technical schools in the Air Force. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957 during the Korean war, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and was crew chief on an F-86 Fighter Jet. He was a professional truck driver for 46 years and retired from C.W. Karper, Inc. of Chambersburg.
Clarence accepted Jesus Christ as savior and grew in his faith under the preaching of Rev. Forest Wiest. His faith and family were his highest priorities. A long-time member of Shippensburg First Church of God, Clarence has served as an usher, deacon, Sunday School secretary, and on the prayer team.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing golf with his sons-in-law and grandsons. He and Donna had many adventures cruising on his Honda Gold Wing Aspencade motorcycle. Clarence enjoyed maintaining his own vehicles and enjoyed recounting the cars and trucks he’d owned over his lifetime. In later years, he enjoyed his morning coffee in local restaurants solving the world’s problems with his friends. He treasured each of his grandchildren and recently, he delighted in watching his great-grandchildren at play.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Donna Gephart Rebuck, and two daughters, Debra (Michael) Gutshall of Newville, Bonnie (Philip) Myers of Shippensburg, one brother, Arthur (Beverly) Rebuck of St. Thomas, PA, 4 grandchildren, Scott (Stacy) Gutshall, Pamela (John) Martz, Daniel Myers, Dustin (Kristie) Myers, 7 great grandchildren (Claire, Penelope, Alexandria, Kaia, Deacon, Evelynn and Kiarra) and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by 3 brothers (Myrl, Calvin, and Dana), and 5 sisters (Ella, Elsie, Beulah, Ruth and Audrey).
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastors Rodney Bistline and Gary Hornbaker will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday morning at the funeral home.
