Clarence W. Holtry, Jr. 84, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
He was born May 5, 1933 in Newburg. Clarence was a son of the late Clarence W., Sr. and Violet Vaughn Holtry.
He was a life member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren. Clarence was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. After being discharged he worked for Valley Quarries and then worked for T.B. Woods in Chambersburg for over 20 years. After retiring he drove school bus for Lee McBeth & Sons.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian L. Koser Holtry whom he married June 22, 1957, one daughter, Darlene (G. Brian) Coffman of Shippensburg, one son, Randy (Tamra) Holtry of Newburg, three grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Sheaffer of Carlisle, Jessica Holtry of Shippensburg and Christopher (Kaylyn) Holtry of Newburg, two step grandchildren, Jeffery Coffman of Chambersburg and Brice Coffman of Winchester, VA, three great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parent he was preceded in death by one brother, John Holtry and one sister, Esther Tosten.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Ridge Church of the Brethren. Officiating will be The Rev. Leon Davis and The Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial with military honors will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services at church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ridge Church of the Brethren, 1095 Ridge Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
