Clair S. Johnson, 79, of Tim Road, Orrstown, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at his home.
Born Tuesday, June 28, 1932 in Orrstown, he was a son of the late Clarence and Hester Horn Johnson.
Clair retired in 1972 from Hempt Brothers, Pittsburgh as an operating Engineer and then retired in 1975 from Letterkenny Army Depot. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Shippensburg and a member of the Orrstown Masonic Lodge # 262 F. & A.M. Clair loved buying and restoring bull dozers.
Surviving is three sons; Steven C. Johnson, Orrstown, John A. Johnson and wife Melody, Fayetteville and Galen L. Johnson and wife Donna, Shippensburg, three daughters; Kaye D. Hartmire and husband Robert, Chambersburg, Karen F. Black and husband Denver, Newburg and Sandy M. Keating and husband Jeff, Cordova, TN, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria J. Robinson Johnson who died April 28, 2010, and six brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November10, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Marlin A. “Butch “Neil officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens with military honors being conducted by the Shippensburg American Legion and VFW posts. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.m. in the funeral home with a Masonic service being conducted by the Orrstown Masonic Lodge # 262 F. &A.M. at 7:30 p.m.
