Christine K. Carr, 59, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at her home, with her husband by her side.
She was born on January 11, 1954, in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late William D. and June Gilbert Kirk.
Christine worked along-side her husband, mainly as the Comptroller and Sales Division of their business, Associated Forklift, Inc., Shippensburg; operating in all of South Central Pennsylvania, Washington County, Maryland, and Berkley County, West Virginia. She started her career in finance and worked as a Commercial Real Estate Officer at the former Summit Bank Corp., Philadelphia.
Aside from her sharp business acumen, Christine lived a full and rich life through her other interest and hobbies. She loved all animals, particularly dogs, cats, and premium horses, which she used to train as part of the dressage and racing industry. She drove her own drag car and was a timekeeper at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ. Christine was also a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church and loved her church.
She is survived by her husband of twenty one years, James L. Carr, whom she married on October 29, 1993, in East Brunswick, NJ; her sister-in-law, Christina Kirk of South Hadley, MA; nieces, Tiffany of NY and Alicia of NJ; and lots of friends.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her brother, William D. Kirk, III, who died on May 8, 2014.
Her funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Rick Noll will officiate. Interment will take place in her family plot at the Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent, NJ. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
