Christina Dubbs

March 14, 1927 — April 1, 2014

Christina G. Dubbs, 87, of Shippensburg, a devoted Mother and Nanny, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 14, 1927 in Glasgow, Scotland. Christina was a daughter of the late Peter and Emily Duncan Grogan.

She retired from Food Services at Shippensburg University. Christina was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 and the Vigilant Hose Company where she was a past Secretary.

In addition to her parents, Christina was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Dubbs who she married July 14, 1948 and died March 29, 1986. Her grandson, Keith R. Hess died January 20, 2003.

She is survived by one son, Roy W. Dubbs (Michele), three daughters, Judy D. Hess (Robert) and Diane L. Glass (Bradley) all of Shippensburg, and Bonnie J. Rosenberry (Dennis) of Chambersburg, one brother, Martin Grogan of Glasgow, Scotland, one sister, Margaret Lunney of East Kilbride, Scotland, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Steven M. Livermore and The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no viewing, however a visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
