Christina K. Bemus, age 91, died at peace on November 3, 2022 in Chambersburg, PA
She was born on October 7th 1931, in Chambersburg, the daughter of Daisy (Shoemaker) Kadel and Edgar R. Kadel.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg High School and Shippensburg State College with a degree in Business Management. Prior to retiring she was the accountant for the Law Office of McCrae and Davis. After retirement she and her husband William Bemus, spent many summers at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua NY. At Chautauqua, Christina was actively involved in the women's Club and the Bird, Tree and Garden Club. She was a socially active women who was deeply involved in Church and community organizations. She enjoyed music, art of all types, reading and travel. Her family and friends will always remember her infectious smile and her kind, caring and giving personality.
She is survived by A son, Stephen F. (Chris) Luhrs, three daughters: C. Michelle (Alan) Luhrs-Wiest, Terriann (Donald) Hilbinger, all of Shippensburg, PA and Tricia Lacy, of Mechanicsburg, PA; Two step children: Thomas B. (Kathleen) Bemus, of Bemus Point NY, and Bazia (Bobby) Zebrowski of Newbury OH: Seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband H. Ric Luhrs, her second husband William J Bemus, her five siblings, step-son John Bemus, grandson Ryan Luhrs and granddaughters Mollie Hilbinger and Cassie Bemus.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at St Luke's Evangelical Church. No calling hours will be observed.
