Charles E. Stanat

Charles E. Stanat, 82, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Mercy House of Chambersburg.

Born Thursday, March 12, 1942 in Scranton, PA, he was a son of the late Emil and Gertrude Stevens Stanat.

Charles was a 1960 graduate of Lake Ariel High School. He served in the National Guard. 

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marion, and the Branch Creek Senior Center, Shippensburg, PA. Charles retired from General Electric.

He is survived by one son, James Stanat, Fayetteville; two daughters, Patricia Kernan, Decatur, AL, and Bobbie Stanat, Chambersburg; one brother, Carl Stanat, Laurel, MD, and sister-in-law, Jennifer Stanat, Laurel, MD.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Hall Stanat who died October 18, 2007; and one son, Jon Stanat.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with The Rev. Brent Stouffer officiating. Burial will be private in Fairview Memorial Park. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
