Charles B. “Chub” Sites, 81, of Upper Strasburg, passed away the morning of Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the WellSpan Ephrata Hospital.
He was born on September 2, 1940 in Chambersburg, a son of the late Raymond and Thelma (Meyers) Sites.
Chub was commonly known as the “Crab Man” at Chubby’s Crabs, Chambersburg. He also owned and operated his own self-service produce stand. Chub enjoyed going to sales and loved taking his grandchildren to Lake Tobias.
He is survived by his two sons, Chris (Lisa) Sites and Mike (Dana) Sites; companion, Betty Niemeyer; four grandchildren, Kylie Sites, Tracy Dile, Joshua Sweat, and Alyssa Belanger; seven great-grandchildren, ten nephews, and two sisters, Rae Craig and Joan Skinner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary Sites, and one sister, Vonnie Cramer.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Philip Steele officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to a desired charity in Chub’s name.
