Charles E. Shields, 44, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in the Emergency Room at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born Monday, November 18, 1968 in Carlisle. Charles was a son of Charles J. and Eileen Shirley Shields of Shippensburg.
He was a fork lift operator for the past 22 years at Self Industries in Shippensburg. Charles was a member of the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts, and the Shippensburg Fish and Game Association. He was a 1987 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School and enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Crystal A. Kelso Shields whom he married October 7, 1995, one daughter, Caitlin R. Shields and one son, Charles H. Shields both at home, two brothers, David Shields of Newburg, and James Shields, one sister, Charlene Shields, mother-in-law, Nancy Kelso all of Shippensburg and four nieces.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Wayne A. Good. Burial will be in Air Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family requests that those who attend the funeral and viewing to please wear casual and or camouflage clothing.
