Charles J. Scheaffer, Jr., 82, a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, Hollidaysburg, PA, died on the evening of Thursday, September 13, 2012.
He was born on August 19, 1930, in Shippensburg, a son of the late Norman C. and Bertha Scheaffer, Sr.
Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, inducted on July 9, 1952 and honorably discharged on July 8, 1954.
He was employed at the C.V. Co-Op, for many years and then took a job at the former Affiliated Industries/Architectural Woodsmith’s, Inc., where he retired from.
In his leisure time Charles liked to hunt and fish with his friends.
Charles was the last member of his immediate family, preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sidney Scheaffer.
His graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the Rehoboth Cemetery. A small viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Wednesday morning, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at 417 Phoenix Drive Chambersburg, PA 17201.
