Charles William “Bill” Morgan, 70, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 in the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born Friday, September 20, 1946 in the Lewistown Hospital, he was a son of the late C. James and Hazel Arnold Morgan.
Bill worked as a Middle School Teacher in the Chambersburg Area School District.
He was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren where he served on various commissions, started the Senior High Basketball Program and co-directed the family night program.
Bill coached youth little league baseball in Shippensburg. He also umpired baseball games and officiated High School and College soccer games. He was an avid genealogist.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Linda Kay Miller Morgan whom he married, November 19, 1966, one daughter; Kelly Lynn (husband Mike) Dubesky, Oberlin, one son; Chad William Morgan, Carneys Point, NJ, three brothers; Dennis, Keith, and Dave Morgan, three sisters; Ruth Reader, Susan Clayberger, and Beth Ranck, and two grandsons; Michael Morgan Dubesky, and Cameron William Morgan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Morgan.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren with Pastor Brian R. Markle officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, and Bill’s family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday in the Church.
