Charles D. Dyarman, 87, of Newville, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Orrstown Personal Care Home.
Born Saturday, March 7, 1931 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Charles Henry and Margaret Kathryn Myers Dyarman.
Charles was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren where he held various offices in the church and was active helping with projects within the church and community. He also worked as the Ridge Church of the Brethren groundskeeper with 10 years of service.
He retired as Branch Manager from CV Co-Op in Shippensburg after 46 years of service. He was a self-employed small engine repairman for 25 years, and worked for Jireh’s Welding & Machine Shop with 10 years of service.
Charles enjoyed attending auctions and sales, and having lunch at Saylor’s Market with his friends.
He is survived by one daughter, Nancy J. Dyarman and her Fiance’, Kenneth Hockenberry, Newville; eight sisters, Crystal Yohe, Lois Snouffer, Helen Reed, LaVonda Graham, Reba Bowermaster, Charlotte Graham, Twila Piper, and Theresa Pankiwicz; and one brother, Dennis Dyarman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Clara B. Worthington Dyarman, who died July 28, 1998; his companion of 16 years, Betty Young; one brother, Richard Dyarman; and one sister, Darlene Eyer.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ridge Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Harold E. Yeager, and the Rev. Leon Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the Church.
