Charles Lee Cook, 64, died Saturday, October 21, 2012. A native of Newport News, he was a 1966 graduate of Newport News High School after which he joined the Army and served four years. He worked as a pipefitter at Metro Machine in Norfolk for 18 years. Charles enjoyed football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, collecting and firing handguns, and loved his Bluegrass music. Preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ann Cook; survivors include his sons, Daniel Cook and Allen Cook and his wife Debbie, all of Pennsylvania; his grandson Preston Lee Cook; and his brother Robert Cook of Hampton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, followed by a service in the funeral home chapel beginning at noon. Private burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., 112 W. King Street, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, is in charge of burial.
