Charity A. Lavoie, 67, of Newburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends Friday, April 15, 2011 in her home.
Born May 28, 1943 in Richford, VT, she was a daughter of the late Scott and Della Lucas Wright.
Charity was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church in Shippensburg and was a past President of the Ladies of the Knights. She was a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College and a 1961 graduate of the Richford High School in Vermont.
Charity is survived by her husband, Rene L. Lovoie, two sons; William L. Lavoie and his wife Kathryn of Norwich, NY, and Rene L. Lavoie, II and his wife Lisa of Canastota, NY, two daughters; Amy L. Lavoie of New Bern, NC, and Marcie L. McCardell and her husband Michael of Mechanicsburg, one brother, Sidney Wright of East Hartford, CT, ten grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Father David Hillier and Father Andre Meluskey. A private burial will be held in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg with Christian Prayer services at 8 p.m. and a viewing will be held Tuesday one hour prior to the services in church.
