Catherine Savage

Catherine Ann “Cathy” Savage, 59, of Carlisle, died on the morning of Friday, September 19, 2014, at Life Care Hospital, Mechanicsburg.

She was born on April 19, 1955, in Carlisle, a daughter of Hazel L. Devor Handshew and the late Frank L. Ridley, Sr.

Cathy was a homemaker throughout her life. She really enjoyed going to many of the local summer fairs and carnivals where she owned and operated many of the games that people play there. She liked stopping at yard sales and flea markets and was also a very dedicated supporter of the Disabled American Veterans.

She is survived by one son, Richard L. Ridley of Camp Hill; three daughters, Dawn R. Keller of Newville, Linda G. Savage of Boiling Springs, and Pamela S. Cope of Carlisle; her companion, Robert Thrush of Carlisle; stepfather, William Handshew of Newville; stepmother, Bonnie Ridley of Shippensburg; three brothers, Franklin Ridley of Shippensburg, David Ridley of Carlisle, and David Handshew of Newville; four sisters, Naomi Wickard of California, Jean Noteboom of Newburg, Kathryn Hawbaker of Shippensburg, and Darlene Brode of Shippensburg; ten grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Cathy was preceded in death by one brother, Frank L. Ridley, Jr.; one sister, Jane Middaugh; and one granddaughter.

Her viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, with her funeral service starting at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Barry Handshew will officiate. Interment will be held privately.
