Catharine R. Hall, 96, a resident of Elmcroft, Shippensburg, died on Sunday, December 19, 2010.

Born on February 7, 1914, in Upper Strasburg, she was a daughter of the late Susan “Flo” Leedy Nye.

Catharine retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot., where she worked in administration, after thirty years of employment.

She was a long time member of the Memorial Lutheran Church and the Joy Bearers Sunday School Class. After retirement, Catharine volunteered at the Chambersburg Hospital gift shop for over fifteen years, delivered Meals on Wheels, reading materials, and flowers to shut-ins around the Shippensburg area. She also liked to do needlework and take trips with the Shippensburg Area A.A.R.P. She enjoyed spending time with her grand, great, and great great grandchildren.

Catharine is survived by her daughter, Maxine Mohn of Shippensburg; three grandsons, Gregory (Karen) Mohn of Shippensburg, Jeffery (Lessa) Mohn of Shippensburg, and Stephen Mohn of Port St. Lucie, FL, four great grandchildren; Laurie (Matthew) Kaufman of Chambersburg, Bryan Mohn of Ohio, Justin Mohn of Shippensburg, and Joshua Mohn of Shippensburg, three great great granddaughters; Catharine, her namesake, Elizabeth, and Margaret Kaufman, and one step-nephew; Gary Jarel of New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Hall, who died on January 4, 1991 and her sister, Esther Jarel.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Rev. Dr. Brenda J. Kiser and Rev. Dr. Robert Seibold will officiate. Interment will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home, on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church at 34 East Orange Street Shippensburg, PA 17257.
