Carroll A. Pearson, 93, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, January 28, 2024, at his home.
He was born on October 16, 1930, in Farnsworth, TX, a son of the late Miles F. and Maggie (Anderson) Pearson.
Carroll spent a year at the former Arizona State Teachers College enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He was honorably discharged on February 24, 1961, as a Staff Sergeant. While serving Carroll worked as a GCA Air Traffic Controller and was involved in Operation Red Wing in Guam.
Strong in his faith since 1942, when he was baptized in an irrigation ditch in Texas, Carroll was a longtime member of the Shippensburg Church of Christ.
He is survived by two children, Kathy D. Rowe and husband Carl of Fayetteville, Cheryl Long of Arizona; five grandchildren, Jessica Lazrine, Amber McConnell, Kelsey Dana, Kenneth Dana, and Colten Fitzgerald; five great grandchildren, Bryonna Smith, Gaberiella McConnell, Aodhan McConnell, Kaydee Graham, and Kendal Dana; anxiously awaiting twins, great grandbaby B and great grandbaby G; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and spouse, Vera Mae, Carroll was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Pearson, who died on September 17, 2017; and his sister in law, Elaine Pearson, who died on May 22, 2018.
His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Shippensburg Church of Christ, with Mr. Dennis Adams officiating. Carroll will be laid to rest next to his late wife, Vera, in the Valley of the Sun Cemetery, Chandler, AZ.
