Carrie Pomeroy

Carrie “Rose” Pomeroy, 87, a resident of Penn Hall Personal Care, formerly of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born June 20, 1929, Carrie was a daughter of the late John Eli and Ardella Mae Laughman Nearons.
She retired from Robert T. Henry’s Pharmacy in Shippensburg at the age of 79. Carrie attended Mongul United Brethren Church, Shippensburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Alice J. (Ray) Plasterer, and Esther F. (Jim) Truett, all of Chambersburg, and Susan J. (Richard) O’Donnell, and one son, Troy R. (Lori) Pomeroy, all of Shippensburg, two step-daughters, Brenda Pomeroy Shull of Newville, and Joyce Pomeroy Gruver of Walnut Bottom, eight grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one brother, Penrose Nearons of Fort Orange, FL, four step-brothers, Harry Allen of Shippensburg, Howard Allen of Chambersburg, Robert Allen of Newville, and Leroy Allen of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon N. Pomeroy who passed away July 22, 1997, a step-father, Earl Allen, a brother, John Nearons, a sister Kathryn Varner, a step-sister, Helen Allen, and a step-brother, Galen Allen, Sr.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Chaplain Brenda Doyle. Burial will be held in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
