Carolyn V. Croft, 76, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on February 17, 1937, in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Charles R. and Carolyn V. Hammond Luckett, Sr, and was preceded in death by her husband Ronald D. Croft, who died on February 2, 1999.
Carolyn was employed as a Houseparent at the Scotland School for Veteran’s Children, retiring after 23 years of work. She had also been employed at the Shippensburg Middle School, in the cafeteria, which she really enjoyed.
Carolyn was a member of the Upper Strasburg Church of God, the Fort Morris A.A.R.P. #2525, Shippensburg, the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. #6168 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of the Cleversburg Senior Center.
She is survived by three sons, Karl David Croft of Anchorage, AK, Timothy Edward Croft of Shippensburg, and Calvin Duane Croft of Front Royal, VA; twin daughters, Karen Ann Byrd of Middletown and Cathy Durrer of Shippensburg; one brother, Charles R. Luckett, Jr. of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Upper Strasburg Church of God at 9716 Upper Strasburg Rd. Upper Strasburg, PA 17265. The Rev. Keith R. Bell will officiate. Private interment will be in the Norland Cemetery. Visitation with fellowship and refreshments will follow the memorial service.
