Carl S. Martin, 90, of Newburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in his home.
Born February 18, 1922 in Letterkenny Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Isaac Carl and Grace E. Sollenberger Martin.
Carl was a member of the Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg. He was a self employed dairy farmer, a heavy equipment operator and in his later years a dairy cattle dealer.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mildred Eloise Shunk Martin whom he married February 25, 1950, one son, C. James Martin and his wife Barbara of Titusville, four daughters, Victoria A. McDonald and her husband Jeff of Orrstown, Cynthia M. Barber and her husband Tommy of Riceville, TN, Jennifer L. Mundwiler and her husband Michael of Clinton, TN, and Emily R. Martin and her husband Sidney of Orrstown, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three brothers, Ralph E. Martin of Orwigsburg, Arthur L. Martin of Lake Havasu, AZ, and Herbert S. Martin of Quarryville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Rowe Mennonite Church at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Pastors Nathan Wadel, John Horst, Allen Martin, and Mark Gayman. Burial will be in the Rowe Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg.
The family requests the omission of flowers due to religious reasons.
