Calvin Nickie “Shorty” Hutchison, 70, of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024.
He was born on November 9, 1953 in Chambersburg, a son of the late Raymond J. “Hutch” and Lula M. Eutzy Hutchison.
Shorty was a 1972 graduate of the Shippensburg Area High School. He worked at Shippensburg University, Marine Corps Leage in Chambersburg, and managed the Hub City Club in Shippensburg. After retiring from the Hub City Club, he moved to Florida. Shorty was an avid golfer. He loved all sports and was a diehard Washington Redskins and Dale Ernhart fan. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Shorty was a member of the Hub City Club, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post #6168, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Minnequa Social Club, AMVETS Post #224, Marine Corps League in Chambersburg, Chambersburg Club, and Cumberland Valley Lodge #315 Free & Accepted Masons.
He is survived by his spouse, Carol Hutchison of Daytona Beach, FL; two daughters, Wendy (Mike) Cramer of Newburg and Terri (Dave) Kunkleman of Shippensburg; three grandchildren, Alexis (Devan Rhoades) Cramer of Newburg, Cameron Cramer of Newburg, and David Kunkleman of Shippensburg; one great-grandson, Luca Rhoades; four siblings, Kathy (William) White of Michigan, Jeffrey Hutchison of Chambersburg, Pam (Trent) Tasker of Chambersburg, and Cindy (Donnie) Rhinehart of Shippensburg; sister-in-law, Wilma Hutchison; two stepsons, Jeremy Finch and Jared (Julie) Finch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Rick” Hutchison.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Melissa Mankamyer officiating. Masonic Services will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Following the service, friends and family are invited to the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg for light refreshments and a time of fellowship.
