Bruce Edward Tappen, 70, of Shippensburg, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at his home.
Born Wednesday, September 23, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, he was a son of the late Ralph Raymond and Mary Ethel Trumpi Tappen.
Bruce graduated from the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. He was of the Catholic Faith. Bruce was an AVID hunter, fisherman, and sportsman, and participated in adult baseball as a pitcher, playing several seasons for Fayetteville AA.
He loved spending time at his place at Raystown Lake, and enjoyed cooking.
He is survived by his companion, Beulah Mae Crist, Fayetteville; one sister, Julia Jane (Russell) Huff, Mechanicsburg; two brothers, Roger Lewis (Patricia J.) Tappen, Chambersburg, and Theodore Allen (Carol) Tappen, Pawcatuck, CT; brother in-law, Dave (Marsha) Johnson; sister in-law, Faye Haas, all of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Regina C. Hale-Tappen, who passed away April 16, 2020; his older sister, Barbara Ann Tappen-Sherman, and her husband Charles; and one nephew, Nathan L. Tappen.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Nathan L. Tappen, to the Franklin County ARC, 2314 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
