Bruce L. Holtry, 83 a resident at Greenridge Village and formerly of 111 Newville Road, Shippensburg, died Friday, June 18, 2010 in the home.
Born March 15, 1927 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late William Henry and Curvey Ellen Myers Holtry.
Bruce was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren where he was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. He was an Army Air Force Veteran serving in WWII, he retired from Domestic Pump as a Molder, loved doing yard work and gardening.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 60 years, Naomi Mae Swartz Holtry; one son; Larry B. Holtry and his wife Brenda of Chambersburg, one daughter; Melody M. Davidson and her husband Deamer of Shippensburg, one brother; George F. Holtry of Shippensburg and one sister; Jean E. Flewelling of Newville and six grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Ridge Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Harold E. Yeager and Rev. Earl F. Stovall officiating. Burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. and one hour prior to the service Thursday in the church.
