Bruce A. Dile, Jr., 81, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Thursday, June 23, 2011.
Born on January 10, 1930, in Mercersburg, PA, a son of the late Bruce A. and Sara May Werdebaugh Dile, Sr.
Bruce served for twenty two years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Logistics Clerk.
He was a Life Member of the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, Shippensburg, a past commander of the American Legion Post #22 in Estancia, NM, and a member of the Hub City Club and Minnequa Social Club, both of Shippensburg. His favorite hobby was working with wood.
Bruce is survived by three sons, Michael R. (Sandra) Dile of Wittman, AZ; Bruce R.(Vickie) Dile and Ray A. Dile, both of Estancia, NM; one daughter, Cynthia L. (John) Newell of Shippensburg; seventeen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Louch Dile; one daughter, Sharon Kuykendall; and seven brothers and sisters.
There will be no local services. Bruce will be interred with his wife, in Estancia, NM, at a later date. The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care at 2700 Luther Drive Chambersburg, PA 17202.
