Brian C. Hancock, 56, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 28, 1960 in Chambersburg. Brian was a son of Roger C. and Doris J. Henderson Hancock of Shippensburg.
Brian was currently employed by Shippensburg University and prior to working there he was employed for 27 years at Lear Inc., Carlisle. He was a member and served on the Executive Board of the AFSCME Union #2354. Brian was a member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post #6168, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, and the Minnequa Social Club, all in Shippensburg. He was a 1978 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. Brian enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends, especially fishing and camping.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Paula D. Martin Hancock whom he married September 26, 1987, two daughters, Kayla R. (Kenneth) Gruver of Shippensburg, and Jaynee C. (James) Weaver of Orrstown, three grandchildren, Jadynn L. Gruver, Lila R. Weaver, and Jase R. “Hoss” Weaver, one sister, Nichole R. Hancock and her companion Richard Mellott of Boiling Springs, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be in the Cleversburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
