Brenda Steigleman

Brenda S. Steigleman, 66, of New Market, VA, died on the evening of Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, VA.

She was born on November 27, 1946, in Washington, D.C. a daughter of Maurice E. and Gladys Coble Weiss. On March 13, 1967, Brenda married Mr. Marlin E. Steigleman, Jr., in Arlington, VA.

Brenda was a homemaker, raising her five children, but she also worked as a Beautician, as well as a Child Care Teachers Aide. She liked to keep active in her free time with gardening, arts and crafts, and cooking. Brenda loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of her animals.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Marlin; five children, Marlin E. (Angie) Steigleman, III of Clayton, NC, Timothy E. (Amy) Steigleman of Great Falls, VA, Shaun A. Steigleman of Falls Church, VA, Sheree S. Steigleman of Elkton, VA, and Tyrone A. Steigleman of Fairfax, VA; ten grandchildren, Chloe, Michaela, Timothy, Samantha, Anthony, Gabriel, Devin, Peyton, Eli, and Jocelyn; her mother, Gladys Coble Weiss; two sisters, Jonette and Donna; and her beloved animals.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Richard “Ricky” Weiss; and one sister, Mary Ann.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg. The Rev. Dr. Cheryl Houser will officiate. Interment will follow in the Otterbein Cemetery. Viewing will be Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, and one hour prior to the service on Sunday, at church.
