Beverly Ann "Bev" Nye

Beverly Ann “Bev” Nye, 71, of Shippensburg, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at her home. 

She was born on Thursday, March 5, 1953 in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Raymond McCleary and Dorothy Anna Bittinger Jumper.

Bev attended the Big Spring High School and worked as a cabinet maker for the former Affiliated Industries in Shippensburg. She was a member of Salem United Brethren Church, where she attended Sunday services for many years. 

Bev enjoyed decorating the house for all holiday occasions and was skillful in ceramics and sewing. She enjoyed the outdoors; having a love for hunting and gardening, particularly planting flowers. Bev also enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing games. Above all else, she loved and cherished her family, especially caring after her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Dennis E. Nye of Shippensburg; two sons, Charles V. (Angelic) Myers and Richard L. (Crystal) Lannen II, both of Shippensburg; six grandchildren, Matthew Myers, Justin (Paige) Myers, Cheyenne Myers, Rylie Lannen, Brady Lannen, and Brinton Hopkins; eight great-grandchildren, Jayden, JT, Isabella, Preston, Aleahh, Leonna, Zayne, and Colson; and six siblings, Penny Burd, Linda Cummings, Betty Boyd, Judith Derr, Richard Comerer, and Deborah Peters. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe McCleary and Randy Comerer. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Ron Cook officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
