Betty Jane Watson, 83, of Orrstown, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Friday, March 12, 1937 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Orpha A. Russell Wagner.
She attended the Cherry Grove School and was a 1955 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. Betty was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church where she was a member of their Disciple Sunday School Class and assistant secretary.
Alongside her husband she was co-owner/operator of the family dairy farm. Betty enjoyed sewing, needle point, crafts, gardening and watching the cattle and the turkeys. She loved and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by four sons, George H. (Norine) Watson, Jr., Hockessin, DE; Glenn D. (Deborah) Watson, Chambersburg, Roger A. (Lois) Watson, Shippensburg and Mark J. Watson, Orrstown; six grandchildren, Melissa R. (Steve M. Friedemann) Watson, Hockessin, DE, Steven H. (Julie Vehorn) Watson, Seattle, WA, Christina L. (Dustin) Martin, Chambersburg, Trista R. (Terry) Hurst, Vossburg, MS, Derrick A. Watson, Shippensburg, and Stephanie N. (Justin) Hoover, Shippensburg; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Watson, Sr. who passed away April 21, 2008; one brother, Clyde R. Wagner, and three sisters, Annabelle R. Crider, Beryl A. VanScyoc and Katherine M. Seibert.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with the Rev. Bob Vizthum and the Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery. A viewing will held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
