Betty M. Rotz, 94, of Shippensburg, passed away Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the Chambersburg WellSpan Hospital surrounded by loving family.
She was born on Friday, September 27, 1929 in Shippensburg. She was a daughter of the late Melvin O. Stevens and Lula E. (Byers) Stevens. She married Melvin C. Rotz on June 26, 1948.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on February 5, 1999, and her brother Roy M. Stevens.
Betty had worked at Crothers Market, the Shippensburg Pants Factory, and retired from the Beistle Company after 38 years. A Protestant by faith, she attended several different local churches. Betty was a member of the Golden Age in Shippensburg. For many years she enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to country music.
She is survived by one sister, Darlene Stevens and husband Richard Stevens of Newburg; two nephews, Troy and wife Sherry Porter, Chad and wife Germaine Stevens; a niece, Jodi and husband Randy Varner; and many great nephews and nieces.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. in Shippensburg. Per Betty’s wishes, there will be no public viewing, visitation, or service. Betty will be privately laid to rest alongside her husband in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Age Club of Shippensburg at 225 Hirschmann Rd. Biglerville, PA 17307, c/o Melony Miller.
