Betty J. Kohler, 93, of Chambersburg, formerly of Shippensburg, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 in Manorcare.
She was born Saturday, January 22, 1927 in Chambersburg, PA. Betty was a daughter of the late James B. and Bertha C. Jones Smith.
Betty was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. She retired in 1980 from the Letterkenny Army Depot. Betty was a member of the Martha Custis Chapter #342 Order of the Eastern Star, Chambersburg. She was also a member of both the Shippensburg Golden Age Club, and AARP #2525.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert G. Kohler who passed away March 1, 1989 and a daughter, Linda L. Shearer who passed away June 3, 1998. Five brothers and two sisters are also deceased.
Betty is survived by one grandson, Jacob F. Shearer III of Chambersburg, five great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren one brother, William B. Smith of Orrstown and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg with The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah United Methodist Church, 30 South Penn Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
