Betty G. Kidwell, 86, a resident of the Orrstown Personal Care Home, died on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the home.
Born on November 22, 1923, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late William and Flo Carmack Finnegan.
Betty worked at the J.Schoeneman Co, a tailoring shop, as a seamstress, retiring in 1971.
She was a social member of the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, Shippensburg, loved animals, and always supported the local humane societies and animal shelters. When she and her husband lived in Baltimore, they were big fans of the Baltimore Colts and personal friends with Johnny Unitas, having season tickets on the fifty yard line.
Betty is survived by her step-daughter, Mrs. Joseph Tiberi, of Glen Arm, MD; two grandchildren, Sandra and Thomas Kidwell of Baltimore; two sisters, Peggy (Robert) Shoemaker of Shippensburg and Delores Woods of Chambersburg; six nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Vernon H. Kidwell, who died on December 1, 1987 and her step-son, Robert Kidwell.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Chaplain Tim Wheeler will officiate. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Holly Hill Memorial Park, Baltimore, MD.
