Betty J. Holmes, 69, a resident of Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Shippensburg, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the home.
She was born March 10, 1945 in Chambersburg. Betty was a daughter of the late Paul L. and Viola R. Pisle Mooney. She was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
She retired from Food Services at Shippensburg University and was a 1964 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School.
Betty is survived by four brothers, Leroy, Lester, and Stanley Mooney all of Shippensburg, and David Mooney on Arkansas, two sisters, Margie Edwards of Shippensburg, and Linda Harbaugh of Chambersburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. Officiating will be Mr. William Gruver. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home on Monday.
