Betty L. Helm, 57, of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family in the Chambersburg Hospital on Thursday, April 4, 2013.
She was born June 19, 1955 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County. Betty was a daughter of Hazel L. Gilbert Mooney of Shippensburg and the late Floyd L. Mooney.
She retired in 2002 from the Beistle Company so she would be able to care for her grandchildren fulltime, Andrew and Alexis called her “Meme”. Betty was a 1973 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School.
In addition to her mother, Betty is survived by one daughter, Amy S. Kitner and her husband Scott of Shippensburg, two grandchildren, Andrew S. and Alexis S. Kitner, four brothers, Floyd, Walter, and Bruce Mooney all of Shippensburg, and John Mooney of Gettysburg, six sisters, Jane Pitzer of Fayetteville, Barbara Kiser of Newburg, Mary Mooney, Nancy Martin, Bonnie Watt, and Connie Faust all of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 10 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. William d. Kauffman. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
