Betty Donovan

Betty Isabelle Donovan, 97, of Newville, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, in her home with her loving family by her side.

Born Sunday, January 24, 1926, a daughter of the late Dora Florence Strayer and David William Eutzy. She married Lee Roy Donovan on October, 8, 1944. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2008.

She worked as a weaver at the former Richard Textiles in Shippensburg for the majority of her life. Betty enjoyed raising her kids and being a homemaker. She spoiled her grandchildren and spent time cooking, baking, canning, and cleaning. Betty was a longtime member of the Hays Grove United Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by three sons, Donald (Judy) Donovan, Dale (companion, Brenda) Donovan, and Douglas Donovan all of Newville; three daughters, Donna Mountz of New Cumberland, Deborah (Stephen) Darr of Carlisle, Diane (Kevin) McDonel of Newville; one daughter-in-law, Paige Donovan of Newville; one brother, Carl Eutzy of Silver Spring, MD.; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by, seven siblings, Pearl Dutrey, Nelly Pennabaker, Alice Punt, John Eutzy, Lester Eutzy, Harold Eutzy, and Mable Eutzy; and one son, David William Donovan.

Betty’s funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., with Barb Servello officiating. Burial will follow at Hays Grove Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hays Grove United Methodist Church at 2180 Pine Rd., Newville, PA 17241.
