Betty Jane Barrick, 83, of Shippensburg died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in the Chambersburg Hospital’s emergency room.
Born August 6, 1926 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Viola Reed Shughart.
Betty was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren and the First Court Chapter # 470, Order of the Eastern Star. Years ago she worked at Letterkenny Army Depot and then retired from the Greif Company in Shippensburg. She enjoyed gardening watching her grandchildren play baseball and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur O. Barrick who died October 17, 1998, two brothers; Harry and Herman Shughart, three sisters; Hazel Leedy, Evelyn Robinson, and Helen Mull.
Betty is survived by one daughter Karan A. Killian of Chambersburg, three grandchildren; Tiffani L. Killian and her husband Travis, Tammi S. Geyer and her husband Ron all of Chambersburg, and Tisha R. Corey of Kennesaw, GA, seven great grandchildren; Rachelle, Saturn, Chase, Nadia, Nolan, Locke, and Lincoln, three sisters; Jean Watson of Shippensburg, Janet Kohler of Chambersburg, and Mary Ann Meredith of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. J. Gerald Greiner. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. The visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when an Easter Star service will be conducted by the First Court Chapter # 470.
