Bessie Kirby

Bessie M. Kirby, 92, of Means Hollow Road, Shippensburg, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at her home.
Born Sunday, March 2, 1919 in Sarton, WV, she was a daughter of the late Henry W. and Annise S. Wickline Weikle.
Bessie was a member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and the South Mountain Chapel. She loved gardening and flowers and enjoyed going out to eat with her family, especially to buffets.
Surviving is one son; Kyle D. Kirby and wife Anita, Shippensburg, six daughters; Susie Ann Mackey and husband Bert, Shippensburg, Patricia L. Mowery and husband Robert, Union, WV, Darlene J. Stee and husband John, Fort Pierce, FL, Vickie S. Miner and husband Johnnie, New Albany, MS, Kathy G. Chamberlin and husband Terry, Shippensburg, and Doris F. Kibler and husband Roger, Chambersburg, two brothers; Ernest Weikel, Belleville, OH and Billy Weikel, Fort Wayne, IN, 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and two on the way, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin J. Kirby who died August 3, 2009, three brothers, four sisters, one granddaughter and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with Pastor Allen H. Hilton officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. and one hour prior to the service in the church on Wednesday.
