Bernita M. “Bee” Kunkleman, 82, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in Menno Haven, Chambersburg.
Born July 15, 1927 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Dorsey and Gail Reath Ordway.
She and her husband, Bruce “Dick” Kunkleman, Jr. who died May 14, 2000 owned and operated Shippen Cleaners which was founded in 1954 and years ago she owned and operated Bee’s Yarn Shop. Bee was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God and was a graduate of the Shippensburg High School.
She is survived by two sons; Jeffrey B. Kunkleman and his wife Marjorie and Richard B. “Dick” Kunkleman and his wife Donna all of Shippensburg, two daughters; Pamela L. Negley and her husband Barry of Shippensburg, and Stephanie A. Coldsmith of Chambersburg, five brothers; Dorsey “Jake” Ordway, Richard Ordway, and Ronald Ordway all of Shippensburg, Basil Ordway of Carlisle, and Cecil Ordway of Norristown, one sister, Bonnie Frey of Shippensburg, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Keller, two brothers; Harold and Robert Ordway, and two sisters; Orpha Ripka and Joann Zappia.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Paul K. Hauk. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing, however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services Monday morning.
