Barry E. Gullixon, 56, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Monday, November 21, 2011 at his home.
Born on February 1, 1955 in Washington D.C., he was a son of the late Eugene and Gertrude (Koebel) Gullixon.
Barry retired from the Smithsonian Institution in 2007 where he served as a Mechanical Engineer and retired from the Steamfitters Local 602 in 1994 where he served as a pipefitter.
He was a life member of the Steamfitters Local 602, a social member of West End Fire and Rescue Company # 3, and a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223.
Barry loved the outdoors and fishing. He was an avid craftsman in woodworking.
Barry is survived by his wife of 20 years, Vicki L. (Thompson) Gullixon whom he married December 8, 1990, a son, Bryan D. Gullixon, Sr. and his wife Tracey of Meherrin, VA, a daughter, Katrina L. Miller and her companion Thomas Harrison of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, twins, Christopher M. Miller and Cassidy M. Miller, and Daniel and Jasmine Gullixon.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bruce Gullixon.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Godson of the deceased, Rev. Michael S. Downs. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
