Barbara Rife

Barbara J. Rife, 58, of Newville, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at her home.

Born July 17, 1956 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Charles D. and Jean Elizabeth Piper Thomas.

Barbara enjoyed making crafts, traveling and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Surviving is one son, Kenneth E. “Ken” Rife and his wife Gabrael, one daughter, Jaime L. Hamilton and her husband, Allan all of Newville, five grandchildren, Elaine, Niki, Javan and Makaila Hamilton and Aria Rife, two brothers, Donald “Buck” and James “Jim” Thomas, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac H. “Ike” Rife who died April 17, 2012, two brothers, Charles L. and Merle B. Thomas and one sister, Elaine C. Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Larry A. Strouse officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the funeral home.
